Tuesday Outfit: Comfy Casual

I feel like being comfy today. If I could hand-select my outfit from the internet instead of from my closet, I’d be wearing this:

Ric, Movember, and Support Prostate Cancer Tshirt

Ric

Growing up, my father always told my brother and me that we could be anything we wanted. We could make money doing what we loved, if we strived to be the best at it. He was an advocate of pursuing your dreams. Still, I followed a more traditional career path for most of my life.

When I began designing graphic tees to benefit animals in need in 2007, I had big dreams, but it was just a hobby. My dad saw it differently. He wanted to be a part of it. He took off of work to come to meetings with me at a clothing manufacturer, even though I was in over my head and had no clue what I was doing. He even offered to be my sales rep, and suggested that he go door-to-door selling my tshirts. I thought he was crazy. I couldn’t afford to pay him anything and he had his own business to pay attention to. But I always kept the intention to include him as much as possible when I reached success.

I never got that chance. I lost my father to prostate cancer in March of this year. I changed the name of my line to his name, so that he will always be a part of this adventure. I believe he now helps me in ways he never could before.

Movember

Recently, I came across this movement called Movember. Here is their mission:

During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces, in the US and around the world. With their Mo’s, these men raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.

Movember raises funds to support the following programs:

I absolutely love this idea and what it stands for. With so much awareness for breast cancer, prostate cancer gets a little lost in the mix. Throughout his battle with cancer, my dad attended monthly meetings by “Us Too“, an organization dedicated to prostate cancer education & support. Together, my brother and I designed this tshirt to help raise awareness for prostate cancer. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Us Too:

So buy a tee, grow a moustache, and spread the word about Movember & prostate cancer to everyone you love! Happy Movember!

Holiday Gift Idea: Color Block & Printed Scarves

Kim Kardashian Scarf Lauren Conrad Scarf

My favorite cold weather accessory is definitely a fun, colorful scarf. They’re a great way to add a ‘pop’ of color or print to a neutral fall outfit.

Rihanna Scarf Rachel Bilson Scarf

Scarves make brilliant holiday gifts. There is one for every style and personality type. I’m loving Marc by Marc Jacobs scarves this season, like this panther scarf in blue:
